Great Food, Real Ales and Amazing Views
During the summer months there’s nothing better than sitting on the terrace at The Steamer, soaking up the panoramic views across Sandown Bay, over the English Channel.
Situated right on Shanklin Esplanade, the pub is just stone’s throw from the beach and the perfect spot to enjoy some of the Isle of Wight’s best, fresh seafood.
Enjoy a drink from our hand-picked wine list or sample a pint from our fine selection of real ales and beers, including some local brews. The Steamer is extremely family friendly and also has a dedicated kids menu.
Nautical memorabilia adorns the walls of the entire pub, from the giant propeller that stands by the main entrance to the traditional fisherman’s glass floats that decorate the veranda and the ships wheel on the wall.
Food & Drink
We’re always looking to use as much local seafood and produce as possible at The Steamer Inn. Our menu varies throughout the year, but favourites such as the famous ‘Seafood Chowder’ will always be on the menu.
Muddy boots & well behaved dogs welcome
Muddy boots (sandy toes in the summer) and well behaved dogs are welcome at The Steamer Inn. We do respectfully ask that dogs are kept on leads at all times and are not blocking walkways or doors to help us maintain a safe environment and adhere to social distancing measures.
The Steamer regularly plays host to well known local musicians playing Jazz & Folk, Bluegrass, Acoustic and Rhythm & Blues that complement both the maritime history of the Steamer Inn and its relaxed friendly atmosphere.
