During the summer months, there’s nothing better than sitting on the terrace at The Steamer Inn, soaking up the panoramic views across Sandown Bay, over the English Channel.
Situated right on Shanklin Esplanade, The Steamer Inn is just a stone’s throw from the beach. The perfect spot to enjoy some of the Isle of Wight’s best, fresh seafood.
Enjoy a drink from our hand-picked wine list or sample a pint from our fine selection of real ales and beers. These include some local brews. The Steamer is extremely family-friendly and also has a dedicated kids’ menu.
Nautical memorabilia adorns the walls of the entire pub. This includes the giant propeller standing by the main entrance, the traditional fisherman’s glass floats that decorate the veranda and the ship’s wheel on the wall.

We’re always looking to use as much local seafood and produce as possible at The Steamer Inn.
Our menu varies throughout the year, but favourites such as the famous ‘Seafood Chowder’ will always be on the menu.
Muddy Boots & Well-Behaved Dogs Welcome
Muddy boots (sandy toes in the summer) and well-behaved dogs are welcome at The Steamer Inn.
We do respectfully ask that dogs be kept on leads at all times, and are not blocking walkways or doors, are quiet and don’t sit on the furniture. This is to help us maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.
